Don't die with the music still in you....

Yesterday, I was reading an article by Dr. Wayne Dyer and these words just POPPED out at me.  DON'T DIE WITH THE MUSIC STILL IN YOU. He talked about how important it is to find your gift, your genius and encourages you to live your life expressing it.  This hit very close to home. We grow up with expectations from everywhere! I spent my life busy... busy with college, busy with getting married, busy with young children, busy raising my children after divorce, busy building my career again, busy, busy, busy... Although I enjoyed EVERY SINGLE stage of my life, I felt as though I was just getting through. Doing things to get to thing done. This left me feeling as though I wasn't doing what God put me on this earth to do.

You hear "Follow your passion" all the time. But what happens if you don't know what your passion is? What if you have fallen into a routine that has left you bored or unfulfilled. You have the desire to do something more, but you just don't know what it is. If you can't imagine not doing something, it's a passion.

Don't presume that your passion should be your job. We all wish that we could make a living doing something we are passionate about, but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. We may like our jobs and do it well, but it may not be your PASSION.

There are a lot of things worth doing that you will never make a living from. You don't have to be an expert in it either. Just the simple act of learning about something you have been curious about and getting better at it could be it.

Your passion maybe helping out at your local church or charity. Maybe it's baking or perhaps it's working on an art journal.  You may never be able to make a living at it, but making sure you have enough time to feed your soul doing it will be a game changer.

Some passions are not found overnight, but could be realized through series of discoveries of small interests. If any of your nearest and dearest have hobbies or passions that interest you, ask to spend some time helping out, or giving it a try. Experiment with new activities, whether it's a new sport, learning a language, or trying a craft, as much as possible. Remember that no matter how much you THINK about it, it's doing it is the way to find what bring passion into your soul.  You need to try things, some you make like, others you may find that it wasn't you envisioned.

The most important thing is that YOU find it.... no matter what it is... no matter how silly it may appear to others... find it, play it.... don't die with the music still in you.

Filling up your Heart
Filling up your Heart

February 03, 2021

In today’s world, it’s hard sometimes to find things to fill your heart and soul.  A lot of times we try to fill that void with things.  New house, new car, new outfit. Yet, we still feel empty, as though we are missing something important and no matter how many things you buy, you can’t seem to fill it up.

Treasure Seeking
Treasure Seeking

January 25, 2021

Treasure seeking involves the true eternal treasure that can only be found through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Too often we are short sighted and seek only earthly treasures that provide temporary gratification rather than laying up our treasures in Heaven that will never disappoint us, rust, break, or be stolen.

Tip: to make treasure coins to decorate your art journaling page, place double sided adhesive on a small piece of paper, apply foil to it and then use a circle punch to create a shiny treasure coin!
