Unfortunately, there is so much truth to the overused expression: "No Pain, No Gain". How often do we want transformation in our physical, emotional, social or spiritual lives- yet we do not want to experience the pain that often accompanies it. With difficulty comes challenges and decisions that can lead to growth: perseverance, endurance, etc... These challenges provide the opportunity for transformation; however, true transformation can only be found through Jesus Christ as found in Romans 12:2 KJV,
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
God's Word encourages us NOT to get comfortable, but to transform ourselves through Him. Once you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, He will transform you making all the pain in your life worth the gain of eternal salvation that only He can provide. Although you may not understand, He has a master plan and often your pain can help others deal with their own difficulties in a way that otherwise would not be possible. Therefore, the next time your experience pain, reflect upon how you can transform yourself and grow further into the child of God that He has intended you to become.
In 2 Corinthians 5:17 ASV, God tells us that "Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new." Check out our lesson entitled: "Butterfly Beautiful" to explore how God can transform your life today! And remember: Your struggles are part of your journey!
Treasure seeking involves the true eternal treasure that can only be found through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Too often we are short sighted and seek only earthly treasures that provide temporary gratification rather than laying up our treasures in Heaven that will never disappoint us, rust, break, or be stolen.
Tip: to make treasure coins to decorate your art journaling page, place double sided adhesive on a small piece of paper, apply foil to it and then use a circle punch to create a shiny treasure coin!
