What a weekend! This past weekend a few close friends and I participated in a Star Wars themed crop party and the Stamp and Scrapbook expo in Orlando. We decided to create "Scrap Wars" and recreate different characters with a scrapbook twist. I was a Wookie from Washi World, joined by Princess Layout, Darth Embellisher and Luke Skycropper. We were equipped by the power of the adhesive lol. It was an an amazing time of laughter, fellowship and silliness that I will never forget. As I reflect back today, I can't stop thinking about how we have all heard the famous words of Star Wars: "May the Force be with you". How did it become so popular? Why do we eagerly view these movies and enjoy the mysterious suspense that "The Force" provides in all these movies? Let's not forget the longed for love story that we seek intertwined within the action of the battles of light vs darkness.
In a real world battling with darkness, we often want a positive direction in the lives of the people around us or to provide encouragement for those we care for. What better way to do that than to empower them? Instead of thinking about a Science Fiction escape from reality, why don't we empower them for real? With the true force of the Holy Spirit that can only come from accepting Jesus as your personal Savior. Life is quite similar to these addictive sagas, the battle between light and "The Dark Side". But guess what? In life we experience this same struggle as we are tempted by Satan everyday; but, in the life's true battle we already know who wins! God loves us and sent His only son to pay for our sins so that we may accept Him and receive the free gift of salvation. Accept this gift today!
I encourage you to make "May God be with you" even more popular than "May the Force be with you". Empower your friends!

Treasure seeking involves the true eternal treasure that can only be found through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Too often we are short sighted and seek only earthly treasures that provide temporary gratification rather than laying up our treasures in Heaven that will never disappoint us, rust, break, or be stolen.
Tip: to make treasure coins to decorate your art journaling page, place double sided adhesive on a small piece of paper, apply foil to it and then use a circle punch to create a shiny treasure coin!
